Filing of RTI to enquire about the resumption of tram service on route 18
Our General Secretary, Mr. Aniket Banerjee, on behalf of team Kolkata bus-o-pedia has filed an RTI to the West Bengal State Transport department regarding tram route number 18.
Route 18, which connected Bidhannagar railway station with Sealdah and Howrah bridge, has been rendered completely non-operational ever since the onset of the lockdown in 2020. We hope that the State Government will reply with the answers of the questions asked, under Section 6 of the Right to Information Act, 2005.
We believe that trams are a non-polluting, and integral part of Kolkata's transport system, and they must not be done away with.
We thank Mr. Soham Banerjee of Athena Law Associates, a leading law firm of India, to help us with all sorts of input. We are indebted to you and your office.
We unequivocally thank all the members and admins of our group who have supported us in our venture.
Join our group if you wish to save the trams. Some more plans are coming up. Stay tuned.
